How We Started Out

The Mortgage Station USA was founded by Duke Vander Ark, a seasoned professional with deep roots in real estate and mortgage lending. Duke’s journey began in real estate appraisal, where he honed his expertise in property valuation. As his appraisal business flourished, he built a strong client base, but the evolving landscape of digital data and automation signaled a shift in the industry.

Recognizing the changing tides, Duke became a licensed mortgage broker in 1996 and officially opened Mortgage Station USA on June 20, 2025, as a DBA of Polaris Home Funding Corp. Over the years, Polaris Home Funding Corp. evolved from a brokerage to a full-fledged mortgage lender, giving clients more direct access to competitive loan options and now offering the same services as Mortgage Station USA.

When the mortgage crisis of 2008–2009 shook the industry, Polaris Home Funding Corp. stood firm. Through responsible lending practices and a commitment to ethical decision-making, the company avoided risky subprime lending and instead focused on government-backed loans—particularly VA loans. As a veteran himself, Duke has remained dedicated to serving fellow veterans, ensuring they receive honest guidance and fair lending solutions.
